A rhyme time had by all at anniversary reception
26 October 2011
To mark our fifth anniversary Muse Advisory held an evening reception in London on Thursday 13 October. We were delighted that so many clients and industry contacts were able to attend.
In celebration of the anniversary donations were made by Muse Advisory to several charities, two of which were nominated by the winners of our Pensions Limerick Competition. Thanks to everyone who submitted such witty, and sometimes poignant, entries. After much debate we selected two winners, both of whom have been kind enough to allow us to publish the results of their poetic talent below.
So our congratulations and thanks to the Executive Team of BP Pension Trustees Limited and Chris Hitchen of RPMI.
The Young Lady from Brighton
There was a young lady from Brighton
Regulations she needed to tighten
With guidance galore
She had them in awe
And wanted no trustee to frighten
An employer obsessed with clearance
But covenant with junk bond appearance
With evidence shady
Approached the young lady
Who quickly exposed the miscreants
Forthwith she advised the trustee
To seek an employer guarantee
A deficit they met
With no need to fret
And all of the members lived * happy.
* but not longer than the assumptions
Executive team, BP Pension Trustees Limited
And on a very different theme:
If you have to manage your pension
And governance needs some attention
Ask Muse to advise
They'll be terribly wise
No more Trustee hypertension
Chris Hitchen, RPMI
Charities that benefited from the event were:
Railway Benefit Fund (nominated by Chris Hitchen)
Harpenden Spotlight on Africa (nominated by the BP team)
Alzheimer's Society
Children's Hospice South West
The SR Foundation
Congratulations also to Chris Bennell, Senior Associate of Muse Advisory who penned the following limerick.
Trustees in today's world of pensions
Unavoidably face many tensions
So it's a good ruse
To sign up with Muse
Bring governance to new dimensions
